A CAKE sale fund-raising evening at Pershore Naval Social Club on Saturday has raised £260 for this year’s BBC Children in Need.
The mayor and mayoress of Pershore Chris and Jan Parsons attended the event, which organisers said was very well attended. Local boy, Jonty Smith – the focus of a recent wheelchair campaign – to cut the ribbon to declare the sale open.
Meanwhile, the Poppy Appeal box on the bar at the Naval Social Club will be £165 heavier after secretary of the club, Trudy Burge, made felt Remembrance Day poppies to sell to family and friends.
