FORMER Evesham mayor Alan Booth said he couldn’t have wished for a better send-off for his late wife at her funeral on Monday.
Family, friends and town councillors filled St Peter’s Church in Bengeworth for the service in memory of Carolyn. The service was conducted by the Rev Barry Collins and the Rev Andrew Spurr, with family friend Rob Welch reading a tribute to the late Mrs Booth.
“It was a great service. I couldn’t have asked for a better send-off for her,” Councillor Booth said.
Carolyn made many appearances at the side of Coun Booth during his mayoral years between 2007 and 2010. She was also a friendly face at the couple’s pub, the Angel Vaults on Port Street, Bengeworth.
Evesham Town Council agreed to donate £100 to the Acquired Aphasia Trust in memory of Carolyn on Monday. Anyone wanting to do the same can do so c/o Campion & New funeral directors, Bewdley Street, Evesham.
