It’s been a busy and sad week this week.It started off OK on Wednesday when I entertained pupils from the Vale School at the Council Chamber where I answered questions put to me from them.
On 11th we attended the War Memorial to mark the reverence of the day. This was followed by lunch at Ferry View organised by Roof tops Housing. We saw wartime memorabilia displayed and some of the people attending the lunch were able to tell a few stories about their war experiences. It was an honour to be able to be with them.
On Friday we attended Coronation Street Disabled Club who meet in the British Legion Club in Badsey. Monday was a very sad day for us all. It was the funeral of past Mayoress Carolyn Booth. St Peters Church was packed out; people standing in the back. I only knew Carolyn for a short time but during that time I realised what a kind and considerate person she was. She had a lot of friends both human and in the animal kingdom. She will be sorely missed. I think Rob Welch said what most of us would wish to say. I am sure that when I say that all of our thoughts are with Alan and Wayne it is said and truly meant. Jim Bulman, Evesham Mayor.
