HEREFORD & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service will be launching its annual Christmas safety campaign at the Evesham Christmas lights switch on this weekend.
The campaign, which will feature a range of safety advice relevant to the winter months, will get underway when community safety officers highlight key fire safety messages during the event on Sunday.
Young firefighters and community safety volunteers will also attend the switch-on where they will be handing out a range of safety advice leaflets, including ‘Good feeling gone’ flyers which remind residents how dangerous unattended candles, wrappings and overloaded sockets can be.
Posters featuring the same message will also be displayed in schools, libraries and hospitals and doctor’s waiting rooms in the run up to Christmas.
