AN Evesham-based charity was among the voluntary sector groups to be honoured at Worcestershire’s inaugural Compact Awards.
The ceremony celebrated joint working between the public sector and voluntary organisations.
Almost 40 nominations were received for projects around the county, all of which were commended.
A partnership between re-use organisation Roundabout, based in Blackminster, and Worcestershire County Council was among those singled out for a highly commended award.
The overall winner as the partnership between Wyre Forest District Council, Vestia Housing and the Friends of St George's Park in Kidderminster.
Simon Geraghty, county council cabinet member for planning, economy and performance, said: “These awards offer a great opportunity to highlight the invaluable work done between our public bodies and the voluntary sector. And we can really recognise the amount of time and effort put in by volunteers to make their local communities better places to live.”
