A MAN threatened to “injure” his friend over a £10 debt.

Timothy Goodman shouted “you’re going to get injured” through Adam Fox’s letterbox after he failed to pay back £10 Goodman had loaned him.

Goodman, of Worcester Road, Evesham, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court.

Matt Dodson, prosecuting, said: “He gave Mr Fox £10 and told him to go and have a few drinks, which Mr Fox believed was a gesture of goodwill.

“He said he could not pay the money back until he was paid at the end of the month, but over the next couple of weeks, Mr Goodman pestered him to get the money back.”

The court was told that on Wednesday, September 1, Mr Fox received an abusive text from Goodman.

Goodman, aged 35, later visited Mr Fox’s home and started banging on the front door.

When he shouted through the letter box, Mr Fox decided to call the police.

Mark Sheward, defending, said: “He accepts he over-reacted and made inappropriate comments, which would bring him into conflict with the law.”

Goodman was fined £35 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge.
