YOUNGSTERS at Elmley Castle First School got a visit from representatives at Specsavers last week as part of their school topic ‘About Ourselves’.
Staff from the shop in Bridge Street popped into the school on Friday to help educate the youngsters, aged between four and six-years-old, on the importance of eyecare and regular trips to the opticians.
In addition to a talk from Yannis Spanopoulos and Isabela Danila the children will be asked to make their very own pair of specs, with prizes for the winners.
Teacher, Sally Roberts, said: “This was all about our bodies, staying healthy and looking after ourselves. We wanted to learn more about the role of opticians, and the visitors from Specsavers have also helped to judge a competition for the best pair of glasses which the children made themselves.”
