EVESHAM town councillors have agreed that a tree standing in land near a house on Greenhill is worth saving.
Wychavon asked the town council for its views on placing a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) on the pine tree growing in land at Struan House. The house is currently up for sale and prospective buyers have have asked if it is possible to remove a number of trees from the grounds. Wychavon raised no objection to the majority of trees being felled but felt the pine contributed to the amenity of the area. Town councillors agreed, voting to support the TPO with councillor Jo Sandalls saying: "I fully support that this tree needs to be saved."
The provisional order will prohibit the cutting down, topping or lopping of the tree for six months or until the order is made permanent.
