THE deadline for this year’s Operation Christmas Child is near, but it is not too late to take part and fill a shoebox.
All gift-filled shoeboxes must be wrapped and donated by Thursday, November 18, and dropped off at one of the allocated drop-off points in Worcester, Evesham, Kidderminster or Dudley.
The shoeboxes will go to vulnerable children in a dozen overseas countries and help give them a Christmas to remember.
“This is a hectic but happy time for us,” said Bob James, area co-ordinator of Operation Christmas Child.
“A shoebox means a great deal to a child who may be ill in hospital, in an orphanage or street shelter, or with their family but living in poverty.
"All the shoeboxes are given, unconditionally, to children in need and for many, the shoebox is the only present they will receive this Christmas and we know the great joy the gifts bring to the children.”

A £2.50 contribution is requested towards promotion, processing, UK transportation and shipping.
