PERSHORE: Cottage Hospital - The annual meeting of the subscribers of the cottage hospital was held on Wednesday week. The report for the past year said the year had been one of the most momentous years in the history of the hospital because during its progress the completion of the hospital buildings has become an almost accomplished fact. Messrs Heman and Cooper prepared plans which, whilst disturbing the original buildings and domestic arrangements of the hospital in the least possible degree, so greatly improved the accommodation that the building when complete will in all human probability be capable of meeting all the requirements of the town and district for many years.

EVESHAM: Fire Precautions in the Evesham District. The Evesham Rural District council came to a very wise decision on Monday when they decided to apply to the Ministry of Health for sanction to a contribution of £100 annually to the cost of the maintenance of Evesham Fire Brigade.

Evesham: At their meeting at the Vinecroft Caf on Thursday last week, members of the Gramaphone Society were entertained to an "out of the rut" programme by their secretary, Dudley L Hughes. It was largely based on his musical memories during his army career, which took him to north and southern England and the Middle East.

EVESHAM: Evesham born Jim Capaldi currently hitting the high spots in British pop charts, falls neatly into the category of local boy makes good. His latest single Love Hurts released towards the end of October is lying fourth in the British record charts.
