AGAPE DONATION: The evening Agape supper held by Bourton Christian Council last month raised £89 which has been donated to famine relief in Ethiopia. Thanks to all who helped raise this sum.
BREAST CANCER EVENT: On Saturday, there will be a sale at the Victoria Hall between 10am and 3pm for the Breast Cancer Research campaign.
BINGO SESSION: Salmondsbury House are holding a Christmas bingo session at the Royal British Legion Hall on Sunday with eyes down at 8pm for the residents amenity fund.
PROBUS MEETING: Bourton Vale Probus club meet on Tuesday in the Baptist Church Rooms at 10.15am when members will have a quiz presented.
CHESHIRE HOME EVENT: Also on Tuesday, the Friends of the Cheshire Homes are holding a Mince Pie morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Edwards, The Manor House, Station Road between 10.30am and 12.30pm. Admission £2 for coffee and mince pies. Bric a brac, raffle and other attractions. In aid of Leonard Cheshire Home, Cheltenham.
PARISH COUNCIL: The monthly meeting of Bourton Parish Council takes place at 7.30pm on Wednesday in the Baptist Church school room.
COFFEE MORNING: Also on Wednesday, a coffee morning in aid of the RNLI at Roof Trees, Rissington Road from 10.30am until 12noon.
PIANO RECITAL: Next Thursday a piano recital is being held at the Cotswold School starting at 7.15pm. The pianist Ardakov will play pieces by Chopin, Liszt, Mozart and Rachmaninov. HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: Following the successful gardeners question time event, members are reminded that there are some tickets left for the cheese and wine party on December 13. These are £4 each and anyone wishing to buy one should get in touch with the Hon Sec Miss JM Bint, as soon as possible. The monthly competition had six entries for "A seed head" which was judged by one of the BBC panel, Roy Lancaster. Mrs Chris Northing won first prize, with second prize going to Mr R Fardon and 3rd prize to Mrs Rosemary Kimpton.
SCHOOL FAIR: Tomorrow (Friday) the annual Christmas fair takes place at Bourton Primary School. On from 2.30-4.30pm, lots of stalls for the family, teas and cakes, tombola and a Santa Grotto for the young ones.
CHRISTINGLE: On Sunday, at St Lawrence's Church, a Christingle Service will be held at 3pm with families invited. Collection will be taken for World Vision.
