Evesham and District
Disabled AC and Partnerships
A FEW hardy members bra-ved Sunday's cold wind when they visited a private lake near Evesham.
Fish proved hard to find but George Read proved the most resilient of the visitors as he took top place with a weight of 8.0.0.
Barry Castle (6.15.0) was placed second with Wayne Panting (0.9.8) in third.
The next match is the Fur and Feather to be staged at Leming-ton Lakes, Moreton-in-Marsh on December 10. Draw at 9am, fishing from 10am.
Thanks are extended to Mr and Mrs Ellis for their kindness and generosity during the season.
Evesham Youth AC
HARD fishing faced Evesham junior anglers when they fished the second round of the Rob Tingle Canal Series.
The club fished on the Grand Union Canal at Rising Lane. Fishing blood worm and joker the anglers found small fish to record very modest eights.
Andrew Beasley finished on top with 1.7.8 and was all clear of second placed Jonathan Baguley who put 0.12.0 of bits on the scales.
Third place went to series leader Elliot Canning and Ian Hendry who both weighed in 0.11.8.
Canning has 48 points on the series followed by Baguley and Beasley both on 46.
The next match for the juniors is on December 10 at Broadacres on the small pool.
Draw at 9am at pool side for a second round match of the Townsend still water series.
Lenches Lakes
THE Lakes are now open for members only but the stocking rates will be maintained throughout the winter.
The final weeks of the Open season went out with a flourish and Mr Taylor's 5 lb rainbow was the best fish in some good limit bags.
Future prospects are again dependant on the weather but small lures stand the best chance.
Evesham WMC
TRANSFERRING the Fur & Feather match from the river to Lemington Lakes it was still hard going for the Workies with the winner being Phil Preston with a small net of perch for 2lbs 7ozs.
Second was John Drew who had a net of perch for 2lbs 2ozs, ahead of Vic Woods, again with a net of perch for 1lbs 2ozs.
The next match should be at Cropthorne but any change members will be notified. Draw at 7.30am.
Tunnel Barn Farm
FISHING on all pools slowed a little due to the heavy rain, but the excess is running off well so normal sport should resume shortly.
The Top Pool is carrying a lot of extra coloured water but this should fine down by mid-week when excellent returns can be expected.
Best baits are maggots, pinkies, worms and caster. Reach, skimmers and perch are the main target fish on the Top and Bottom Pools with carp to 9lb on house two.
Results - Saturday Open (House Pools): 1 Andy Findley (Preston Innovations) 40.12.0, 2 Mark Litchtenberg (Kamasan) 14.4.6, 3 Kev Folwell (Drennan Oxford) 12.1.0.
Sunday Open (House Two): 1 Pete Rice (Faps Trinders) 23.8.0, 2 Gary Smith (Pershore MG) 11.8.0, 3 Karl Mullen (Lanes Bait) 10.9.0, 4 Doug Smith (Pershore MG) 9.1.0, 5 John Lavender (Boxley) 7.10.0, 6 George Clark (Massey) 4.2.0.
