WYRE Piddle Elite lead Division One of the Evesham and District Associa-tion after seven straight wins.
Matt Hartwell and Mark Green both won three singles in their 8-2 victory over clubmates Livewyres.
They then visited nearest rivals Bengeworth Tigers and scraped home 6-4 in a tight match.
Hartwell, Green and Darrell Wiltshire all beat Stuart Greene with Hartwell and Green also beating Bob Price to put the Elite 5-2 ahead.
Grahame Brown beat Hartwell 21-19 in the third to reduce the deficit and Price beat Wiltshire 21-18, 17-21, 21-18 to leave the match to be decided by the doubles.
In a close game, Hartwell and Green just got home 21-17, 18-21, 21-18 against Brown and Price.
The Elite then added two comfortable victories. They overcame Bengeworth Red, who turned out with only two players, 8-2 and then defeated Evesham Rowing Club 9-1.
Chris Gooderham made a rare appearance and won his three singles with the losers' lone success coming when John Buxton beat Mark Green 21-17, 25-23.
Bengeworth Blue recorded their first win of the season with a 7-3 defeat of Studley with Mike Prior undefeated in his singles. Derek Close and Mike Kirwan's doubles win over Prior and Richard Bishop earned Studley a point.
Charlie Loh made his league debut for Wyre Livewyres in their 8-2 victory over the Blue. He beat Bishop and Paul Beechey but lost to Mike Prior.
Basement side Bidford Bears went down 7-3 to Evesham Rowing Club with John Teare, Richard Wood and Graham Briscombe all winning two singles each.
The Bears then met the side just above them - Studley and, at the end of the night, both sides were still looking for their first victory after a 5-5 draw.
Chris Church won three for the Bears with Derek Close and Mike Kirwan winning two each for Studley. Bears led 5-4 but Close and Kirwan won the doubles to earn a share of the spoils.
