Evesham III 2,
Bridgnorth III 1
EVESHAM continued the DTZ West Midlands Premier League season with a second successive victory with an impressive performance.
Dominating throughout the first half a spirited Evesham side strung together a succession of flowing offensive moves, with the solid defence on hand to deal with the rare attack from the visitors.
Commitment was at it's highest all season, and Evesham's ability to win every 50-50 challenge hampered any Bridgnorth movement.
However, it wasn't until the second half that Evesham moved up a gear, and turned their superiority into goals. Stuart Watts intercepted a weak pass, used his quick turn of pace to stride past the remaining defenders, and accurately struck from the top of their circle to score the opener.
The thrust to increase the lead continued with a succession of short corners, coming desperately close each time, and it wasn't until Grant was savagely tackled to win a penalty flick that Evesham managed to do so.
Watts confidently fired the ball high to the keeper's right, to double the advantage.
A poor Bridgnorth side managed a late consolation goal, with a neat looping effort over the top of advancing Cassey, but Eve-sham held on to record a well deserved win.
Evesham visit Barford Tigers on Saturday.
