Blockley Ladies 3, Wootton Bassett 2
BLOCKLEY hit back from two goals down to win Saturday's league game on the Astro at Evesham High School.
The hosts enjoyed the bulk of the first half possession but they were unable to capitalise on their territorial superiority.
It was the visitors who made the most of their chances to take a 2-0 lead but this spurred Blockley to better things and Liz Harvey's strike started the fightback.
A cracking shot from Kerry Cassey then brought the scores level and both sides had chances to score a third before Cassey grabbed the winner to clinch a thrilling win for the Cotswolds club.
The next day, Bretforton were the opponents for a friendly fixture in which both teams provided a mixture of new, young and regular players.
An open, competitive match played in a good-natured spirit was the result with both sides piecing together some good moves but unable to find a finish.
Alison Beasley had a good game in attack for Blockley alongside Hayley Whitehouse, who played well out of position.
Goalkeeper Jean Moore was another to shine as did her opposite number as the deadlock remained until the final whistle.
