Pershore 1, Droitwich 8
PERSHORE entertained high flying Droitwich in the DTZ League on the Evesham Astro on Saturday in what turned out to be a "game of two halves".
In an evenly contested first half Droitwich took the lead from a well-worked penalty corner.
Pershore responded well but were hampered by the loss of Herman following a heavy tackle.
Despite this setback the host club equalised in the closing moments of the first half from a well-worked short corner which was well finished by Lisle.
Pershore began the second half slowly and conceded two quick goals through a mixture of poor defending and unfortunate umpiring decisions.
Inexcusably, Pershore's resistance crumbled with a number of players demonstrating an unacceptable level of endeavour and commitment.
This led to goals being conceded at regular intervals as Droitwich exploited the poor defending.
Despite being outclassed Pershore did create a number of chances all of which were spurned including a quite incredible miss by Ridsdale minutes from the end of a miserable afternoon.
