Avonvale Volvo 48,
ACF 28
ACCURATE shooting from Volvo's front two helped them to claim the Stratford League points.
Avonvale took control in the opening quarter to establish a good lead but their opponents soon pulled back in the second thanks to confident play in the centre of the court and precise feeding into the circle.
Throughout the match, both sides made a number of great interceptions with Volvo's player of the match Vicky Sarson producing some fine skills in the defensive area.
Avonvale went on to restore their authority at both ends of the court to run out comfortable winners.
Becky Collett was named ACF's best player.
ATH 8, Henley A 63
HENLEY were emphatic winners of a one-sided affair in which their experienced side proved far too good for the league's newcomers.
Henley's shooters were rarely off target meaning that ATH defenders were denied the rebounds needed to set up attacks at the opposite end.
Maria Rogers led the scoring spree and was named player of the match, an award also given to opposing goal attack Sara Hawkins.
