STRATFORD Under-8s continued their impressive current form by winning all three of their matches at Coventry- based Barkers' Butts.

Sunday's first game produced a comfortable 30-5 win despite Stratford having to come to terms with a tight pitch that meant their usual running game had to be adapted to suit the more compact conditions.

This they seemed to do when Richard Newton opened the scoring with a surging run. He was quickly followed by Bryn Stretton and, by half time, Simon Horner had added a third try.

The second half saw a brief resurgence by the home side in which they scored. However, Max Snelson with a brace of tries and William Sutcliffe completed the victory for Stratford.

The remainder of the Stratford squad started the second game a little complacently and were soon two tries adrift.

It was the resilience of player of the match Ben Perrot who got Stratford back into the game and he set up Richard Griffiths to pull a try back before half time.

After the interval, Mark Tagli-aferri broke away and set up Harry Fishwick to draw the sides level. However, the home side took the lead again after a sustained assault.

Fishwick again levelled the scores with a solo effort and, in the dying seconds, Jamie Walter spotted Costa Fowers on the wing to sneak into the corner for a 20-15 success.

With that scare behind them, Stratford settled down in the last game to coast to a 35-5 win.

Harry Barrett streaked away from a melee of players to open his account. This was quickly followed by the imposing figure of Ben Mitchell brushing aside challenges and providing Simon Horner with a simple scoring opportunity.

Richard Griffiths added two more following jinking runs and Grant Harmon also scored just after half time.

Fishwick scored his third try of the day before Alex Scott rounded off a fine performance with a try in the corner.
