THE search is on for talented swinging singers - you could win a recording session and a star spotlight in front of a professional orchestra.
The talent contest, which comes to Evesham next week, is one of four being held around the Midlands.
Contestants can sing a song of their own choosing and musical director Mike Beare says he is happy to arrange their choice of music so they can sing it live, fronting the Bairkatz Orchestra.
The contest, on February 11 in Evesham Arts Centre, will form part of programme of swing and big band music.
The winners of each of the four heats will have the opportunity to record a CD in Bidford's Rhythm Studios while the overall winner will star in his or her own concert with the Bairkatz Orchestra, which is made up of young professional musicians from across the Midlands.
Their sound is described as somewhere between Glen Miller and Nelson Riddle.
Musical director Stuart Beare said: "Anyone interested should decide what they want to sing and get in touch with me.
"I will then help them with the arrangement before they go in front of the band."
There is no entry fee and the competition is open to anyone over the age of 16. Tickets for the concert, which starts at 3pm, are £5 and are available on 01386 455677
