DANNY Lennon replaced Troy Wood 17 minutes into the second period as Paul West tried to liven up a lacklustre Evesham side.
The hosts were again almost caught out after 68 minutes when Paul Barnes skipped past a challenge but again could only shoot straight at Nathan Vaughan.
Lennon produced some slick play after 71 minutes to give Danny Scheppel a sight of goal but the midfield man's strike flew narrowly too high.
The visitors made their third change as the goal-kick was being taken - their final throw of the dice in their gallant efforts to get back into the match.
And their change in policy was rewarded after 74 minutes when third sub Russell Bull was tripped by Vaughan and Paul Barnes slammed in the resulting spot-kick.
Vaughan saw yellow for his part in the concession.
