Rugby Town 0, Evesham Utd 1
UNITED made it six points out of six since their FA Cup exit seven days ago with a single goal victory at Butlin Road.
The Robins dominated much of the game but were relieved to hear the final whistle as they almost paid for made their failure to score a second goal.
After going close on several occasions Danny Scheppel scored what proved to be the winner after 22 minutes with a splendid finish after good work from Gary Hay.
The latter limped off on the half-hour mark and was replaced by Troy Wood who came closest to doubling Evesham's lead.
Michael Hayden was denied a second goal in the first half by a superb save from Adam Stevens who was grateful to his crossbar when Wood met Simon Fitter's 52nd minute cross on the volley.
No matter how hard they tried the second goal eluded the visitors who were grateful to a block from Fitter in the closing stages to ensure another maximum.
