IT was all Evesham in the opening ten minutes but the scoreline remained blank.
Joe Clarke's third minute left-footer was blocked by a defender and Mark Hands saw his follow-up deflected into the hands of Town keeper Adam Stevens.
Hands then headed over when he beat Stevens in the air when Simon Fitter swung in a free-kick.
The Robins pieced together a fabulous move in the sixth minute when Gary Hay and Mark Owen combined to set-up Danny Scheppel whose side-footer from 18 yards was heading for the top corner until Stevens intervened.
Rugby's first shot at goal after 12 minutes saw Nathan Vaughan save easily from David Kolodynski.
