MAJOR roads remain closed this evening with river levels still rising as Storm Bert continues to cause chaos and widespread disruption across the county.

The River Severn, Teme and Avon continue to rise after heavy rainfall caused by Storm Bert with many rivers expected to peak tonight, flooding property.

At the moment the flood warnings affect Worcester and a number of towns and villages across Worcestershire including Upton, Bransford, Evesham, Hanley Castle and Knightwick.

River levels are rising slowly at the Diglis (Worcester) river gauge because of heavy rainfall with flooding of property expected tonight at Quay Street, South Quay, Diglis Avenue and Hood Street.

River levels are also rising at the Saxons Lode river (Hanley Castle, Upton) gauge as a result of heavy rainfall with flooding of property, roads and farmland expected Monday tonight.

An Environment Agency spokesperson said: "We expect flooding to affect properties at East Waterside, Upton upon Severn, the B4211, Malvern Road."

The predicted Peak at Saxons Lode is expected to be between 4.9m to 5.1m tonght.

  • River Severn at Court Meadow, Kempsey and Callow End
  • River Severn at East Waterside, Upton upon Severn
  • River Severn at Hanley Castle, Rectory Road in Upton upon Severn and Saxons Lode
  • River Severn at Hanley Road, Upton upon Severn
  • River Severn at Hawford Wood and Bevere
  • River Severn at Pitchcroft, North Worcester
  • River Severn in North Worcester
  • River Severn in South Worcester
  • River Teme at Bransford
  • River Teme at Knightwick, Doddenham and Broadwas
  • River Teme at Leigh
  • River Teme at Stanford Bridge
