THE owners of a Worcestershire village pub have announced that they will be moving on after more than a decade since they took the reins.

The Gardeners Arms Charlton, near Evesham, is saying goodbye to their owners of 10 years.

The pub will be closed for a few days after November 23 whilst the new owners 'find their feet'.

In a post on Facebook the pub said: "We’d like to announce that after nearly a decade trading at The Gardeners, we have decided it is time to hang up our chef whites and bar blades.

"We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here and have been lucky to have the support of some lovely people and have made some wonderful friends along the way, for that we thank you all and will always be grateful.

"A special thank you to all the people we have had the pleasure of working with here over the years, you have always been amazing, gone above and beyond and truly have made our time at The Gardeners special.

"We’ve been so lucky over the years to work with such a group of amazing people and we wish all of you the best in all your future endeavours.

"We have seen a lot of change over the last 10 years, many to make us smile and sadly some losses that will always stay with us.

"We’d like to say a massive tribute to all those we have loved and lost along the way, we will always look back with fond memories and smiles as we hold you in our hearts.

"And finally a huge thank you, to the man who made it all happen, all those years ago on a cold Friday night, when we opened our doors for the first time and started our journey at this wonderful pub.

"You all knew him for his miserable charm, but those that knew him well, knew how much he loved being the landlord of the Gardeners and seeing his equally miserable regulars every day.

"We will always be grateful to my father, Brian Parish, for making this journey possible, and touching so many people along to way

"Our last trading day will be this Saturday 23rd and we would love to see your friendly faces before we call time at the bar for a final time.

"The pub will be closed for a few days while the new owners find their feet and get ready to start their journey as we did 10 years ago.

"We hope you will give them all the support and encouragement that we kindly received."
