ONE of the longest-serving strays at a rescue has made it her birthday wish to finally find a loving family.

Sylvia has recently celebrated her fifth birthday at Worcestershire Animal Rescue after never being able to celebrate with a family or a home to go to.

The former racing dog arrived at the centre straight after finishing her career and had struggled to find a home since.

Amie Jones, shelter operations manager, said: "We really hope this is her last Birthday ever spent in kennels.

"This girl deserves so much more.

"She is an affectionate, loving girl who adores her friends and wants nothing more than to snooze on her big memory foam bed with a tasty treat.

"She is always up for a potter and will be a loyal companion."

Sylvia is a greyhound who will need an adult-only home but could live with another dog.

Ms Jones added: "She will be so rewarding and will certainly be a great addition to a home that enjoys the quiet life and cosy spots.

"Sylvia has spent her birthday relaxing with her favourite carer, enjoying a pig's ear and zoomies around the coppice, followed by a pamper and cuddle in bed
