An estate agency owner has won the 'Entrepreneur of the Year' award.
Tom Tarver, owner and managing director of Johnsons Property Consultants, received the accolade at the 2024 Love Evesham Awards.
Mr Tarver began his career at Johnsons as a 17-year-old apprentice and ‘Saturday boy’ in 2004.
He later acquired the agency, transforming it into one of the area’s leading independent property specialists.
In 2023, he relocated the business to larger and more prominent premises on the High Street, attracting praise from the Vale of Evesham Civic Society for the sensitivity of the refurbishment project to the historical character of the conservation area.
Mr Tarver said: "Relocating to our new home was one of my proudest achievements.
"This move has helped to future-proof our growing business and allows us to better serve the community we care so much about."
His commitment extends beyond his own business as he also serves as the chair of the Evesham Place Board, in partnership with Wychavon District Council.
In this capacity, he plays a role in fostering economic development initiatives aligned with the town’s 20-year vision set out in the 2022 Town Centre Investment Prospectus.
The awards honour community businesses and organisations, and individuals who have a positive impact on their area.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Tarver expressed his gratitude to his supporters and pride in the community.
He said: "Evesham is a town full of doers; people who work hard to make their businesses, charities and community groups better every single day."
