A PERSHORE business owner is expecting a bill of up to £10,000 after his van was involved in a suspected hit and run.
Tom Marshall, of Avonvale Plumbing services, has been left picking up the pieces after a caravan allegedly hit his van whilst he was picking up a coffee from Greggs.
The incident happened on the Four Pools Retail Park in Evesham on October 25 at around 9am.
According to a witness the driver of the car which was pulling the caravan got out of his vehicle and inspected the damage before driving off.
Mr Marshall said: "I'm frustrated and angry.
"Accidents happen but it's horrible to think another human could do this to someone else.
" I was parked outside Greggs on Friday (October 25) at bang on 9am getting a coffee and someone pulling a caravan totally sided my van.
"A witness said she heard it happen, looked at him getting out and presumed he would do the right thing but he didn't he just left.
"I've tried every avenue but I don't think anyone is going to be held to account."
According to the witness and CCTV footage from Costa, the car registration plate starts with X60 and is an SUV type vehicle pulling a caravan with a beige stripe around the middle.
Mr Marshall continued: "Because it was on the passenger side I didn't even realise at first until I had parked up at the plumbing merchant.
"I went back to Costa and reviewed their camera footage but I couldn't see the registration plate.
"I'm on the phone with the insurance and haven't been given any quotes but based on previous scratches and nicks it wouldn't surprise me if I had to pay between £8,000 and £10,000.
"If I claim on my insurance my premiums will go up so either way I will be out of pocket."
Mr Marshall is appealing for witnesses and the police have been made aware of the incident.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We have received a report of a collision between a parked van and another vehicle on Four Pools retail park in Evesham on Friday 25 October.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
