MAJOR roadworks that have been plaguing residents and commuters for almost two years will soon be removed.

Roadworks on the A44 which started in January 2023 will soon come off the road, £2.2 million and 7.3km of water pipes later.

The work is not set to finish until May 2025 however the pipes are nearing the roundabout at Chadbury Farm Shop and will no longer require traffic lights after passing the area.

Once past Chadbury Farm Shop Severn Trent will move out of the road and onto the footpath.

Paul Hughes, Severn Trent community communications officer, said: “We are investing £2.2million to replace 7.3km of water pipes between Fladbury to Greenhill.

"These essential upgrades are replacing aging water pipes which will ensure the local community has a resilient and reliable water supply that is ready to meet the demands from climate change and a growing population.

"We understand that roadworks are an inconvenience, especially if they are going ahead for a long period of time, and we want to thank everyone for their patience as we know this is a busy, well-used road.”
