Volunteers have begun to make the a Worcestershire town more wildlife-friendly.
The group, consisting of volunteers, Evesham Town Council's outdoor team and a councillor, have begun planting wildflower seeds in the town's cemeteries.
The project aims to:
- Replenish populations of pollinating species.
- Increase habit availability for hedgehogs, birds and other animals.
- Promote natural processes such as water purification, climate regulation and air quality.
An Evesham Town Council spokesperson said: "This week, our amazing volunteers, outdoor team and councillor Julie Tucker have begun planting wildflower seeds to support the rewilding of areas of the town’s cemeteries, as part of the Town Council’s wider Biodiversity Policy.
"A huge thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and got involved. Stay tuned for updates as these spaces transform."
