A folk duo is set to stop off in Bretforton as part of their 21-date tour.

Christina Alden and Alex Patterson will be performing at The Fleece Inn, near Evesham, on Thursday, October 24, showcasing new material from their upcoming album, set for release in early 2025.

Their latest single, Safe Travels, will be part of the set, with its themes of love, loss, and longing for safe passage.

The song, which features banjo and tenor guitar harmonies, has been supported by BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6, and RTE Radio 1.

The duo say they have had a busy summer of festivals and family life, but have also been writing and recording new material.

This includes Shallow Water, which explores the winter tradition of ice skating on the fens, and White Mountain Hare, inspired by the highland hare that changes its coat to match the seasons but is left vulnerable due to the impact of climate change.

Their set list will also feature a brand new, never-performed track, 'Winter Song', which is a love letter to the changing seasons and a welcome home to an old friend.

Alden and Patterson will be travelling with their vintage suitcase of merchandise, which includes their hand-printed albums, illustrated T-shirts, and songbooks.

They will be joined on select shows by double bass maestro John Parker, known for his work with Nizlopi.

The duo's music has been applauded by many, with BBC Radio 6's Tom Robinson praising their "strong contemporary songwriting".

The tour, which runs through October, November, and December, will also see the duo preview new material.
