BRIDGES and roads around Evesham have reopened after wet weather hit the Vale earlier this week.
Multiple yellow and amber weather warning, which anticipated heavy rainfall across the region brought traffic to a halt earlier this week and late last week.
Flood alerts followed for the River Avon and many of its tributaries as some part of the country received a month's worth of rainfall in just a matter of days.
Various fields flooded including Crown Meadows and many roads were forced to close including Eckington Bridge, Brook Land in Cropthrone and Jubilee Bridge in Fladbury.
All roads have now been reopened however a flood alert remains in place for the River Avon in Worcestershire today (October 2).
Regarding the alert, a Government website says: "River levels remain high at the Evesham and Bredon river gauges because of recent rainfall.
"Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible.
"We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the River Avon from Abbotts Salford to Tewkesbury.
"Other locations that may be affected include Offenham, Evesham, Twyning and the Eckington Road.
"No further significant rainfall is forecast. We expect river levels to remain high for several days."
Eckington Bridge was the last road to reopen and opened on Monday (September 30).
Paul Middlebrough, Wychavon County Council councillor for Eckington (who commented after the bridge reopened) said: "This is good news.
"The bridge floods all the time and it was closed by the county council.
"I am sure all the residents will be delighted that the bridge has now reopened."
Only a matter of miles away in the Cotswolds, trees fell down blocking roads, a bridge was swept away and car parks flooded.
A tree fell down on Well Lane near Stow and blocked Well Lane.
Police attempted to remove the tree but highways had to be called.
A bridge at Feldon Valley Golf Club was swept off its foundation, but work to repair the damage had begun on September 24.
Water levels on the River Stour reached near record levels as Shipston Bridge was closed and the surrounding car parks began to flood.
