A Pershore arts centre is set to open its doors to the public for an open day.

Number 8 will welcome visitors to explore the centre and learn about its activities and events.

The open day will include tours of the centre, including a behind-the-scenes look, a display of costumes from Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society (PODS) shows, and a prize draw.

Information about the arts centre's activities, including workshops with schools, special screenings, and opportunities for artists, will be on display.

There will also be details of volunteering opportunities, with volunteers available to chat with anyone interested in getting involved.

Emma Bangham, programme manager at the arts centre, said: "The idea of the open day is to encourage people who may not have been to Number 8 before to come along and find out what we’re all about.

"They can look around the venue, explore backstage, see some of PODS’ fabulous costumes on display, and maybe even try on a few wigs.

"There will be tours of the building offering the opportunity to find out more about the history of the arts centre, and volunteers on hand for a chat with anyone who is interested in getting involved.

"We’re a friendly bunch and we’re urging people to come along and see what we have on offer for them."

Number 8 has volunteers in a variety of roles across the centre, including behind the coffee bar, stewarding, assisting with admin and workshops, and working in the Just After 8 Charity Shop.

Admission to the open day is free of charge, and everyone is welcome.
