A PILATES studio is set to move into new premises after outgrowing its old one.

Pink Shrimp Pilates was based at a unit on Craycombe Farm in Fladbury for a year and a half but is set for a "soft opening" in Evesham town centre this weekend.

Halimah Haque, the studio's owner and qualified instructor, said: "We are having a soft opening with classes from Sunday (September 15) and then an open house event will be on the following Saturday (September 21) from 1pm."

Pink Shrimp Pilates is moving to larger premises at 6 Merstow Green in Evesham due to increasing demand for classes.

Mrs Haque said: "I had a two-year lease at Craycombe Farm but within six months I had outgrown it - it's so busy now.

"Fortunately, my landlady there has been lovely and even helped me search for alternatives.

"I was putting on more and more classes to the point where that work-life balance was disappearing.

"This new studio should reduce my workload and enable me to see more people in a one-hour class."

Mrs Haque, who has been teaching Pilates for nearly seven years, offers reformer and mat work Pilates classes but only had four reformer machines at her old studio.

Mrs Haque added: "We will have a studio for mat work and a space with eight reformer machines.

"There will be introductory and beginner classes too so I'll be finding out what people's goals are and the quirks in their body so they can ease into it."

Pink Shrimp Pilates' new class timetable begins on Sunday, September 29 and Mrs Haque is already planning ahead.

Mrs Haque said: "It will depend on demand but I have considered adding an instructor to the studio if classes get busy quickly, as it's just me at the moment.

"I got the keys for the new unit in July so it has been a stressful three months or so but this feels like an organic move for me.

"I really like the look of the new studio - I'm so chuffed with how it has come together."
