A 61-year-old man must pay more than 100 times the value of his journey after travelling on the railway without a ticket.

Phillip Buckley, of Goldfinch Rise, Pershore, was found to have travelled on a Great Western Railway train on Monday, March 18, without a valid ticket.

His case was heard at Worcester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (September 4).

He received a fine of £220 and was ordered to pay £4.80 in compensation, £88 surcharge to victim services and costs of £180 - totalling £492.80 - by Wednesday, October 9.
