THREE people have been taken to hospital following a car crash which closed the A46 near Evesham today (August 16).
The incident involved three vehicles and closed the major road for over two hours this afternoon and the road has since reopened.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 11.32am to a road traffic collision involving a van and two cars at the junction of the A46 and A44 in Twyford, Evesham.
"Three ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
"Upon arrival we found three patients.
"A man who was the driver of the van was assessed and had sustained potentially serious injuries which were not life-threatening.
"He was conveyed to Alexandra Hospital for further assessment.
"A man who was a driver and a woman who was a passenger in the car were assessed.
"The man had sustained potentially serious injuries and the woman had sustained injuries not believed to be serious.
"They were conveyed to Worcester Royal Hospital for further treatment.
"No further patients required treatment.”
