Fans of film have a treat in store as free outdoor cinema events make a return to Wychavon.

Audiences are encouraged to bring camping chairs, picnics and picnic blankets to the events.

Dating back five years, the event funded by Wychavon, shows a selection of films across multiple locations.

These include Droitwich Spa, Evesham, Broadway, Pershore and the new Amphitheatre at The Lenches.

All movie showings, with the exception of screenings in Pershore, will take place as evening arrives, ensuring enough darkness for the movie projections to be clear and visible.

In collaboration with the Pershore Plum Festival, Pershore's outdoor cinema experience offers several films shown throughout the day courtesy of an LED screen.

Grease will be shown at Droitwich Cricket Club on August 23 at 8pm.

Next is Abbey Park, Pershore on the following day showcasing a range of films throughout the day.

It will kick off with Frozen at 11am, followed by Wonka at 1pm, next up is Top Gun: Maverick at 3:15pm, and finished off with Mamma Mia at 5:45pm.

Meanwhile, Top Gun: Maverick will be playing on August 25 at 8.30pm at The Lenches Amphitheatre, Church Lench.

Tickets for that showing must be pre-booked at https://lenchestheatre.co.uk/whats-on/.

The ever-popular The Greatest Showman is set to entertain audiences at The Village Green, Broadway at 8pm, August 31.

Bohemian Rhapsody will close the series on September 6, 8pm at Corporation Meadow, Evesham.

Steve Knight, place projects manager at Wychavon District Council, said: "We know that people look forward to these open-air cinematic experiences – it’s great to have a free experience to enjoy with family and friends.

"We want people to enjoy the local area and I hope that people may support local by buying some food and drinks from independent businesses in the area."

Attendees are encouraged to follow Vale and Spa on Facebook or check the Vale and Spa website, as the events may be affected by the weather.
