EVESHAM's celebrity strongman has completed his latest challenge a year after carrying a 60kg washing machine five kilometres.

Mark Bond, who has previously done the impossible by carrying a washing machine on his back for five kilometres and pulled a truck over 25 metres, has now successfully pulled a double decker bus full of people and animals.

The event, which raised over £1,000 for charity involved Mr Bond pulling a vintage double decker bus with 33 people inside of it and one dog, over 30m on July 20 at Batsford Arboretum.

Mr Bond said: "Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to all of my supporters and everyone who has been involved.

"I completed my challenge in July and raised money for Cancer Research once again.

"I pulled a vintage double decker bus with passengers onboard over 30 metres.

"There was 33 people and I can't forget the one dog.

"Overall the experience went very well, there was lots of support on the day and we made an outstanding £1,246."

The strongman wanted to say a special thanks Batsford Arboretum for letting him train and hold the event, Troopers Lodge Motor Services for lending him "the lovely bus" and Ben Goss for helping him train.

Mr Bond continued: "Without any of these people the event couldn't of taken place.

"The reason I do these events for Cancer Research is because I have had a scare myself and I've lost many family members to cancer as well as friends.

"I train all year round for three days a week at Vale Park Gym so it's not something that can be done on a spur of the moment.

"I did hear comments from people who thought that I wasn't going to be able to do it, but I switched off, found a flat spot and concentrated on the job.

"At the end there was a lot of cheering.

"I would like to do something again next year, I'm not sure what I will do but someone suggested an airplane and I think that's a good idea."
