A NEW festival is returning for its second year after being "greatly received" from the residents of Evesham.

The Evesham Sausage and Cider Festival, an event organised by the same company that provides the town with the Evesham Food and Drink Festival every year, is coming back after its debut.

The three day festival put on by Blue Strawberry Events is free to enter and happening over the last weekend in August.

Mark Cookson, organiser of The Evesham Sausage and Cider Festival, said: "This will be our second year and the festival is happening between August 31 and September 1.

"There will be live music with tribute acts from Rag n Bone Man and Bon Jovi to name a couple.

"We will also have over 15 street food vendors and the event was so successful last year that we have decided to put it on again.

"Overall it's going to be a good weekend of family fun and I hope everyone enjoys it.

"There will be 25+ flavours of cider and 15+ different types of sausages.

"I was talking to a lot of people last year and they said that they enjoyed it so much that they would be coming back if we did it again.

"We have also decided to hold the festival the week after the bank holiday as it's the last weekend before children return to school."

The festival will take place on Crowne Meadows on August 30 4pm to 10pm, August 31 10am to 10pm and September 1 10am to 7pm.

Mr Cookson continued: "Rather than having two Evesham food festivals, we decided to hold another one that is similar but with a different twist.

"People really loved last years event and everyone over Facebook was really glad, it does so much for the town.

"Evesham always comes out for the festivals and there will be lots of different foods available, not just cider and sausages."

Dogs are welcome and visitors will be able to also enjoy a fun fair, axe throwing, inflatables, face painting, virtual golf, hair braiding and much more.

Although well attended last year, Blue Strawberry Events also organises the Evesham Food and Drink Festival which annually sees over 10,000 people visit.
