POLICE have been out and in villages across Worcestershire to try and catch speeding drivers.
Officers from West Mercia Police were in Aldington, South Littleton, Bretforton and Childswickham this morning (July 25) and checked 244 vehicles.
The checks had been put in place after concerns had been raised by parish councils about speeding in the area.
Out of the 244 vehicles that were checked, only one was caught going more than 30mph and the driver was spoken with.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police, said: "This morning 244 vehicles were checked and we are pleased to say only one was over the 30mph limit and for this, the driver was spoken to.
"During this mini operation, we spoke to several members of the public about our presence in the area and we thank those who came to talk to us about their concerns.
"We encourage everyone to report any concerns with speeding to their parish council who we work closely with.
"We are well aware people slow down for us when they see us, but today hopefully it meant at least we slowed down some vehicles."
