Singer-songwriter duo Chris While and Julie Matthews are set to perform in Bretforton this October.

Throughout their 30-year career, they have generated notable attention, becoming Britain's longest-lasting female duo, delivering more than 2,500 performances and appearing on more than 100 albums.

In celebration of their 30th anniversary, the pair will be headlining at The Fleece on October 7 and are embarking on their most extensive tour to date.

Despite their folk music categorisation, Ms While and Ms Matthews's approach to their careers is said to be more akin to punk's DIY ethos, and the two women oversee their own careers entirely.

Over the years, their work has earned them ten nominations at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Music Awards, winning the 'Best Duo' award in 2009.

Ms While performs vocals, guitar, banjo, dulcimer and percussion in the band, and Ms Matthews performs vocals, piano, guitar, mandolin and bouzouki.

The pair are said to be one of the best and most respected duos on the world folk roots scene.

In addition to touring, the duo is promoting their 13th studio album ‘Days Like These’, released this September.

Containing twelve fresh tracks, Days Like These covers a wide range of themes, encompassing the full spectrum of human emotions.

The tour starts in Biddulph on October 2 and will include venues such as Sheringham's Little Theatre and Maltby's Wesley Centre.

Bretforton's performance will feature special guest Marion Fleetwood at The Fleece.

The duo is also scheduled to perform in Bristol, Birmingham, Canterbury and other locations around the UK, with special guests joining them at certain locations.

Days Like These has been released through the FatCat record label, FATCD050, and marks another landmark in their career.
