An Evesham jeweller is looking ahead to a new era after receiving a community grant.

Wedstones, specialising in wedding and fine jewellery, has received £1,000 from the Wychavon Growth Grant scheme, supporting businesses in their next step.

Founded seven years ago, the jeweller places an emphasis on personal service.

Stocking over 400 different diamond rings in 11 different shapes and bands, the company uses ethically sourced diamonds.

Manufacturing occurs within the UK and has eco-friendly packaging.

The grant will be used to purchase a polishing machine, transfer more work in-house, reduce outsourcing, enhance efficiency and take on a trainee goldsmith.

Leon Rhodes, director and founder of the jeweller, said: "We know jewellery is more than just a fashion accessory but is a very personal statement by the person who is wearing it.

"That’s why we take the time to make sure our customers have all the information they need to make the right decision for them.

"Our investment, supported by the growth grant from Wychavon, means we can now offer our customers an even more personal and tailored service."

The company has over 100 five-star ratings on various review sites.

Cllr Ricard Morris, executive board member for economic growth and tourism at the council, said: "Growing our economy is a priority for Wychavon and small businesses like Wedstones are the backbone of that growth.

"That’s why I am delighted we can offer support like this, which helps our small businesses to unlock their future potential and take advantage of new opportunities."
