AN EVESHAM barista went up against the world's best.
Joanne Osbourne a barista at Costa Coffee in Evesham's Tesco has attended Costa Coffee's Global Barista of the Year competition but unfortunately did not win.
Miss Osbourne had been invited to the event after winning the UK and Ireland Costa Coffee Barista of the Year competition in April.
Eight baristas from across the globe took part in the competition which took place on July 2 and 3.
A Costa Coffee spokesperson said: "Joanne competed against seven other baristas from around the world, over a course of two days – taking on many challenges.
"Whilst Joanne did not come in the final three, she displayed courage, her passion and skills – and represented Evesham in the competition."
Denila Kumar from Qatar won the competition, with Shogo Abe from Japan and Adbin Subedi from the UK placing second and third.
