AN ANIMAL sanctuary in a village near Evesham is offering a 'unique' sheepover experience for visitors to raise money to save the farm.

The Farm Animal Sanctuary in Middle Littleton is hosting its second sheepover on Saturday, July 27, which are always hugely successful according to staff.

The sanctuary has been running the events twice a year for the past four years but has decided to host three sheepovers this year due to popularity.

Louise Stuart, manager of The Farm Animal Sanctuary, said: "The sheepovers are a lot quieter than our most recent Freedom Fields event.

"Visitors can bring a tent and spend the night surrounded by a friendly bunch of sheep, and they can also walk around the farm and see all of our other animals such as the cows, horses and turkeys.

"It's a different experience for sure, you get to know the animals on a much deeper, personal and intimate level.

"It's something we do twice a year and everyone is always asking about when the next one is.

"This will be the second one this year and we will have one more next month."

Tickets to the event at Manor Orchard Farm will cost £20 for adults and £10 for children, with the money raised going towards the sanctuaries ultimate goal of being able to purchase the farm.

Mrs Stuart continued: "We normally put the friendly bunch in the field, which consists of around 25-30 sheep.

"People don't normally get so close to animals like this and I think a lot of visitors are amazed at just how friendly the animals can be.

"The whole farm is opened up and it's really nice to walk around in the evening, each individual has their own story, some of the sheep were rescued a couple of years ago and they were just skin and bones."

Golden Glaze Doughnuts from Worcester will be at the sheepover and guests will be able to participate in yoga from Yahra in Broadway on Sunday (July 28) morning.
