A MAN has been arrested at a caravan park after a stolen "high performance" car was found in Evesham. 

The car, a stolen BMW from Cheltenham was found abandoned today (July 18). 

A man was arrested after a vehicle linked to the burglary was found at a caravan park. 

The 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and remains in police custody. 

A spokesperson for the Gloucestershire Constabulary said: "Police have arrested a man following the theft of a high performance car from Cheltenham.

"Shortly after 2.40am this morning (Thursday July 18), officers received a report that a BMW had been stolen from a property in Prestbury.

"The vehicle was spotted travelling out of Cheltenham and towards Evesham.

"The stolen car was later found by police after it was abandoned in Evesham.

"A car linked to the burglary was found at a caravan park in the town and officers arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

"The man remains in police custody and enquiries are continuing.

"Anyone with information about the incident, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage which they believe to be relevant, is asked to contact police through the website, quoting incident 29 of July 18."
