The accolades included 15 subject-specific awards, recognising students across a range of disciplines.

Evesham New College's awards spanned departments such as construction, creative arts and media, engineering, English, maths, beauty and motor vehicle disciplines.

Conversely, Pershore College honoured students from its animal welfare, English, health and social care, horticulture, maths, sport, re-engagement and supported learning courses.

The crowd saw Hope Andrews of Bromsgrove crowned as Pershore College's 'Student of the Year' for her accomplishments in animal welfare, while Evesham New College's honour went to Elmley Castle's Alexander Weaver, a student of creative arts and media.

Mark Bonham, assistant principal at WCG and director of Evesham New College, addressed audience members on the night.

He said: "It was a fantastic evening and the chance to celebrate our students and all of the amazing achievements they have made throughout the academic year.

"Although academic success is important, it is not all about grades, and we want each of our students to achieve the best outcome they can during their time with us."

He added: "This year's ceremony was a celebration of success at every level, and it was great to be able to recognise this in front of students, friends and family.

"The evening was the perfect way to celebrate that work and the incredible achievements of our students."
