A MAN'S livelihood has been left in limbo after his vehicle recovery van was stolen in broad daylight from outside his home.
The van, the only way for Shwan Saeed to do his job, was stolen by at least two men in the early hours this morning (June 24).
Mr Saeed had only been in the business since last November but the van was his pride and joy according to his wife.
Charlotte Saeed, Mr Saeed's wife, said: "It's a waiting game now, the vehicle was stolen from right outside our home and we still have the only key.
"My husband woke up at 5am and walked outside to see that it had disappeared, so we called the police.
"They were caught on our neighbour's CCTV but you can't see their faces.
"They must have been professionals, they got in quick without a key and drove away, I can only imagine that they hotwired it.
"One kept a look out whilst the other one was in the van."
According to CCTV footage, the van was stolen just before 3am.
The pair have two daughters and Mr Saeed's vehicle recovery business is the main source of income for the family.
Mrs Saeed continued: "It's our main source of income, he had bookings all week and now he has had to cancel them all.
"We have tried to put the information out there in lots of different groups and get the word out, we want to make it too hot to handle, but what else can we do?
"It only happened a couple of hours before my husband woke up which is gutting but there's a lot of this going on in Evesham.
"He works so hard and the van was his pride and joy, it would have been a lot easier if they had stolen a car instead.
"This is more personal, it's his business and his livelihood."
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We were called from an address in Evesham around 5.20am this morning (June 24) about a report of a stolen vehicle.
"No arrests have been made and enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
