An Evesham school has been celebrating an outstanding Ofsted report.
Prince Henry’s High School was visited by inspectors on March 5 and 6 - and received the highest possible grade in every category.
Headteacher Tony Evans said the report was a testament to everyone associated with the school.
Ofsted’s report, published on April 30, says: “Staff greet pupils each morning with genuine warmth, coupled with a determination that every pupil will work hard, attend regularly and behave exceptionally well.
“Pupils do all of these. They flourish academically and grow into caring and responsible young adults.
“They learn alongside enthusiastic, dedicated and knowledgeable staff.”
Inspectors say the school’s sixth form is a “shining light” and praise its clubs and school trips, which include a retro gaming club and musical theatre.
The report says pupils with special educational needs or disabilities have their needs accurately identified when they join the school.
Information is then provided to teachers so they can support pupils during lessons.
As well as being grade outstanding overall, the school was given the top grade in each of five individual categories: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and sixth form provision.
“Ofsted’s report recognises the wonderful school that Prince Henry’s is, and is a testament to the hard work and efforts of the students, staff, parents, carers, governors and everyone associated with the school,” said Dr Evans.
“In the opening paragraph of their report, the inspectors said that ‘Everyone at Prince Henry’s High School is proud to be part of a united and vibrant community. There is an all-encompassing togetherness that runs through every aspect of school life’.
“I would like to thank everybody who has supported and made Prince Henry’s the school that it is today.
“I am incredibly proud to be headteacher of this Outstanding school. However, we realise that, in an ever-changing world, there are still many challenges for young people and we will continue to be relentless in our drive to support and prepare our current and future students for the world in front of them.”
