Dame Harriett Baldwin MP has appealed for a review of speed limits along the A46.

The West Worcestershire MP hopes that National Highways will conduct a formal review on the stretch near the Long Carrant Residential Park between Ashchurch and Evesham.

Residents of the area have voiced concerns about speeding motorists at the junction.

Previously, speed was reduced on the A46 section by Hinton Cross, and Mrs Baldwin is now urging the agency to re-examine the stretch between Sedgeberrow and Beckford.

She said: "I’ve had a series of conversations with residents living at Long Carrant Views and also local campaigners who want a formal review of road safety there."

“We’ve had a successful campaign to reduce speeding up the road at Hinton Cross and now I’d like National Highways to turn their mind to this challenge.

“Stretches of the road are already limited to 40 miles per hour and I’d like to see National Highways look at making a speed limit reduction to 50 mph at this dangerous stretch of road as well.”
