A WOMAN has been seriously injured after she was hit by a car in Evesham.
The incident happened in Bridge Street in Evesham this morning (Thursday) and the woman was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital by ambulance.
The road was closed as emergency services rushed to the scene although has since reopened.
A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a car and pedestrian on Bridge Street at 11.03am, two ambulances and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.
"On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who was the pedestrian. She was treated for serious injuries before being taken to Worcester Royal Hospital by land ambulance."
West Mercia Police announced shortly before 3pm the road had reopened, thanking the public for their patience.
