PERSHORE’S Abbey Park Schools’ Federation held a non-uniform, wear something red day for the Midlands Air Ambulance.
The children across the federation decided on the chosen charity and raised £198 through their efforts.
Leanne Reynolds, chair of the PTFA (The Parent, Teacher and Friends Association) for the federation, said: “We contacted the Midlands Air Ambulance and Charley and Robin were kind enough to bring the helipod (a decommissioned helicopter) in and let the children have a look around it.
“Each class went to see the helipod and Charley gave a fabulous talk, telling us all about what the air ambulance does and how important it is to our community.
“The children asked lots of questions and everyone was excited to see all of the different parts of the helipod and what they do.
“Abbey Park Federation was very lucky that Charley and Robin made the special trip to show us just how our money would help the charity that is so important to us all.
“Abbey Park raised £198 which will go directly to help them to continue to help people in our community.
“We are so excited to do more fundraising for this amazing charity in the future and send our sincere thanks to everyone who works at Midlands Air Ambulance for the life-saving work that they do.”
The federation caters for children aged two to 12 through its pre-school, nursery, first school and middle school in Pershore near the abbey.
The PTFA aims to raise money to go towards things for the school outside of its budget.
